The Fabbri sum...Such a wonderful, exuberant place. The Fabbri summer house up here, at Bar Harbor, was by Grosvenor Atterbury, very Arts & Crafts stucco. After it burned, it was redesigned by her brother-in-law, in a far more refined and restrained style---almost monastic interiors, as in the new house uptown. Unusually severe taste for a Vanderbilt, n'est ce pas?<br /><br />If interested, I scribbled some time ago about the Bar Harbor house (next door to Sonogee, a house occupied for some years later on by her Uncle Fred.
